Fujifilm’s plant wasn’t destroyed, but was damaged to the point that production had to be stopped. Today the folks at Fujifilm announced that they’re back up and running and the X100 is back in production. Japanese retailers are expected to start getting the X100 in early April. It’s in such high demand in fact, that there may be a delay on when the camera is made available to the US. Fujifilm has put out a notice (in Japanese) that states that not only the camera, but the leather case and lens hood are all selling faster than the company can make them. They’ll be ramping up production as quickly as possible, but a delay is inevitable.
